POWERHOUSES IN THE GYM

The Scotland rugby team has been to many gyms across the world in their pursuit of quality facilities with sufficient weight & platforms for the players of up to 125Kg able to squat 200kg plus. In Wellington they found such a place in Powerhouse in Marrion Square. Powerhouse Gym, Wellington website

The gym has specialised in unconventional training methods with  variety of racks, platforms, chains & rings. They have been tagged with a hardcore 'No frills, hands on' training approach for powerlifters, weightlifter & bodybuilders within the Wellington region.

Scottish Rugby Head of Strength & Conditioning at this Rugby World Cup is Dr Neil Potts, and he endorsed the gym by ensuring the squad spent two afternoons enjoying the facilities for a strength as well as a power/plyometrics session.

The players were also suitably impressed with the attitude of the lifters that went about their business alongside the Scots, and they exemplified the qualities desired by Warren the manager of Powerhouse as noted on their website (see above).
